I have studied plants in the form of essential oils for treating rheumatism, having a family member very affected by rheumatic pain. I prepare oil for massaging the affected areas from olive carrier oil or grape seed and black pepper essential oil. When the pains are very severe, I add a few drops of clove essential oil. Purchased for perfume preparation. It is a typical black pepper scent, fresh, but also a bit woody. It has a freshening effect and retains its fragrance even after diluting it to 10%, although it is not very tenacious.
