Cosgard – Ad Ampio Spettro, Elevata Efficacia

Il Cosgard è un sistema conservante liquido basato su una combinazione sinergica di quattro componenti: alcol benzilico, acido salicilico, glicerina e acido sorbico. È ad ampio spettro e approvato dagli enti di certificazione per la cosmesi naturale. Il suo ruolo essenziale è garantire una completa protezione microbiologica delle formule contenenti acqua, prevenendo efficacemente la crescita e la proliferazione di batteri Gram-positivi e Gram-negativi, lieviti e muffe.

Ingredienti (INCI): Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, Sorbic Acid.

  • Solubilità: Solubile in alcol e glicoli, miscibile nella fase acquosa.
  • Intervallo di pH: 3,0 - 8,0.

Proprietà Principali

  • Attività ad Ampio Spettro: Distrugge e inibisce un'ampia gamma di patogeni (batteri aerobici e anaerobici, funghi, muffe da conservazione).
  • Compatibilità Eco/Bio: Una delle soluzioni più utilizzate per sostituire i conservanti sintetici controversi.
  • Versatilità: Non altera la viscosità delle creme e non mette sotto sforzo le reti gel polimeriche idrofile.

  • Emulsioni di tutti i tipi, creme giorno e notte idratanti, lozioni corpo, creme contorno occhi.
  • Prodotti d'igiene con risciacquo: shampoo, gel doccia, detergenti viso, detergenti intimi.
  • Prodotti per la cura dei capelli: balsami, maschere per capelli, sieri per il cuoio capelluto.
  • Formulazioni acquose trasparenti: tonici, acque micellari, spray viso, sieri, gel.
  • Prodotti da trucco fluidi: fondotinta a base d'acqua, correttori, mascara.

Guida alla Formulazione

  • Procedura: Il Cosgard viene aggiunto durante la fase finale della formulazione, al di sotto dei 40°C, sotto accurata agitazione per una completa dispersione.
  • Valore di pH: L'intervallo di pH ottimale è 3,0 - 8,0.
  • Dosaggio Raccomandato: 0,6% - 1,0%. Un dosaggio standard dell'1% garantisce una conservazione ottimale a lungo termine per la maggior parte delle formule.
  • Stabilità: Sensibile al calore; deve essere aggiunto a basse temperature, tipicamente al di sotto dei 40°C.
  • Gestione dell'Odore: Il Cosgard ha un caratteristico odore medicinale che ricorda le mandorle amare, percettibile nelle formule non profumate. Può essere mascherato utilizzando acque floreali, oli essenziali o estratti aromatici naturali.

Sicurezza d'Uso e Conservazione

Profilo di Sicurezza: Materia prima cosmetica sicura ed ampiamente testata dermatologicamente. In rari casi, su pelli estremamente sensibili o affette da rosacea, può causare una temporanea sensazione di calore o un lieve arrossamento, motivo per cui si raccomanda un patch test cutaneo. Trattandosi di un prodotto contenente Acido Salicilico, il suo utilizzo è regolato da severe norme di sicurezza nell'Unione Europea. Secondo il Regolamento Cosmetico (CE) N. 1223/2009, i prodotti contenenti acido salicilico non devono essere utilizzati in formulazioni destinate a bambini di età inferiore a 3 anni, ad eccezione dei prodotti da risciacquare (shampoo, gel doccia).
Precauzioni: Solo per uso cosmetico esterno. Allo stato puro e concentrato, il liquido può causare irritazioni alla pelle e agli occhi; maneggiare utilizzando dispositivi di protezione (guanti). In caso di contatto con gli occhi, sciacquare immediatamente con abbondante acqua pulita. Non utilizzare in prodotti senza risciacquo (leave-on) destinati a bambini al di sotto dei 3 anni. Tenere fuori dalla portata dei bambini.
Conservazione: Conservare nel contenitore originale ermeticamente chiuso, in un luogo fresco e asciutto, al riparo dalla luce.

Et alsidigt og effektivt konserveringsmiddel, der er godkendt af både Ecocert og Cosmos. Farven er let gullig, men det betyder ikke noget i det færdige produkt.

I've noticed that, unlike vitamin E, cosgard products keep better. I wonder if we could combine them. I don't see the problem, but I haven't tried it yet.

I fully appreciate both the effectiveness of this preservative and the wide, permissible pH range. But what I disliked just as much with the last batch purchased (no. 78784) was the effect of changing the final odor of an aqueous serum into a too strong, pungent, hospital disinfectant...so I will no longer be able to use it for products to which I cannot add essential oils or fragrances on the one hand, and on the other hand, it has lowered my pH by more than one unit(!!!! ) the pH of all the products I have used it on ( creams, cleansers, lotions, serums), which has never happened to me before and for sure this has cost me stress and quite a long extra time for adjustment; basically, it took more time for adjustment and countless checks than the actual realization of the products, and such a pH issue I really didn't expect from Cosgard who I have worked with for years without any problems so far 🙉. The 4* rating is for Cosgard in general, so as not to damage its reputation; for this batch however, please infer that I could only offer a very low one and please do some more tests to confirm/refirm the problem I have noticed. 🙏🏻

I used this product to prepare an exfoliating serum. I think it is a good product since the serum has kept its consistency and properties for more than 3 months (minimum shelf life of the serum).
