Vitamina C MAP – Forma stabile e delicata di Vitamina C
Il Magnesio Ascorbil Fosfato (MAP) è un derivato dell'acido ascorbico sviluppato per superare il principale limite della Vitamina C tradizionale: l'instabilità negli ambienti acquosi e la necessità di un pH fortemente acido per rimanere attiva. A differenza dell'acido ascorbico puro, il MAP rimane stabile anche in formulazioni neutre o leggermente alcaline, rendendolo molto più facile da lavorare e nettamente meglio tollerato dalle pelli sensibili.
Una volta applicato sulla pelle, il MAP viene gradualmente convertito dagli enzimi naturali cutanei in Vitamina C attiva, consentendogli di agire come antiossidante e di contribuire a un incarnato più luminoso e uniforme. È un ingrediente pregiato nelle formulazioni concepite per pelli mature, disomogenee o soggette ad iperpigmentazione.

Secondo il produttore, il MAP conserva la sua stabilità in modo eccellente anche in condizioni di temperatura elevata senza degradazioni significative rispetto al classico acido ascorbico, un notevole vantaggio per le formulazioni lavorate a caldo. È tuttavia instabile in caso di esposizione prolungata alla luce UV.
Dal punto di vista del meccanismo d'azione, il MAP viene convertito a livello cutaneo in acido ascorbico attivo grazie all'azione delle fosfatasi naturali. Agisce come inibitore della tirosinasi, un enzima coinvolto nel processo di sintesi della melanina, un meccanismo documentato nella letteratura specializzata come rilevante per promuovere la luminosità e l'uniformità nelle zone soggette ad iperpigmentazione.

Guida alla Formulazione
- Si scioglie nella fase acquosa della formula a temperatura ambiente o leggermente intiepidita
- Dosaggio generale 0,5 - 3,0%, e superiore nei trattamenti intensivi
- Intervallo di pH raccomandato per la formulazione finale: 6,0 - 7,5
- Incompatibile con gli ioni metallici (può degradarsi in loro presenza); evitare l'associazione diretta con ingredienti a base di metalli senza un adeguato agente chelante
- Si raccomanda di proteggere la formula dall'esposizione prolungata alla luce, poiché il MAP è sensibile alle radiazioni UV
- Può essere combinato con la Vitamina E per un effetto antiossidante sinergico
- Per ottenere un effetto visibile sulla luminosità della pelle, sono generalmente necessarie concentrazioni di almeno il 3%
