for what I use them for (perfume) there is not a big difference between the steel one, and the 2 plastic ones with different prices, all are of good quality and rotate correctly, even if you have to force a little at the beginning
I choose these plastic balls for the mini roll-on containers, they fit perfectly. they don't leak the contents of the container.
